Celine Dion: Schwester gibt Update zu ihrem Gesundheitszustand

Celine Dion’s sister gives update on singer’s health

After having to cancel her tour in May due to health reasons, Celine Dion’s sister, Claudette Dion, has provided an update on the singer’s condition. According to „Journaldesfemmes“, Claudette recently appeared on the Canadian TV show „Bonsoir Bonsoir“ and stated, „I know that she is working hard.“

„We are confident that we will make it“

In December, Dion had revealed that she was suffering from the autoimmune disease „Stiff Person Syndrome“. Her decision to initially postpone and then cancel her tour has left her fans concerned. However, her sister’s comments have given some hope. Claudette stated, „I know that she is working hard. We are all keeping our fingers crossed, and I am glad that people are concerned.“ She further shared, „We are confident that we will make it. This can’t be the end of her story.“

She also recounted a conversation with her famous sister, where she had said, „This cannot be. Heaven made a mistake.“ To which the pop star responded, „You are making me cry.“

Tour cancellation

Celine Dion had already revealed in October 2021 that she was struggling with „severe and permanent muscle spasms“. In December 2022, the „My Heart Will Go On“ singer announced that she had been diagnosed with the rare neurological disorder „Stiff Person Syndrome“. This condition causes muscle spasms during stressful situations, making performances impossible. She initially rescheduled her „Courage World Tour“ but eventually had to cancel all remaining concerts in Europe on May 26th.

In an Instagram post at the time, she expressed her apologies, saying, „I am so sorry to disappoint you all once again. I am working really hard to regain my strength, but touring can be very demanding, even when you are 100% fit.“ She acknowledged that it wouldn’t be fair to keep postponing shows for her fans. „Although it breaks my heart, it is best for us to cancel everything now until I am truly ready to be back on stage.“ She also added, „I want you all to know that I will not give up, and I can’t wait to see you all again.“ (spot/cw)
