Darja Varfolomeev shines at the European Championships: three finals for the Olympic champion!

Darja Varfolomeev is taking center stage at this year's European Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships, currently taking place in Tallinn, Estonia. The talented 18-year-old from Schmiden qualified for three finals in an impressive qualifying campaign. Her achievements are particularly noteworthy as she noted that she achieved the best scores with the tape and the hoop and was therefore the winner in the apparatus finals. Despite a strong performance, Varfolomeev missed the final with the clubs in ninth place, while her teammate Lada Pusch qualified with a solid fifth place.

Varfolomeev's achievements are not only a sign of her individual class, but they also reflect the current strength of German rhythmic gymnastics. The young athlete was named Germany's Female Athlete of the Year and has won Olympic gold in the past, making her the first German to win an Olympic medal in this discipline. The all-around final, in which she finished second behind Ukraine's Taisiia Onofriitschuk, will take place on Sunday, June 8th. Varfolomeev will show herself again on Saturday when she fights for medals in the apparatus finals, which will be broadcast live on SWR from 11:15 a.m. According to ZVW, the competition is being watched with great excitement.
