Construction work on AN 54: Important diversions for Röttenbach and Birkach!
From Tuesday, June 10, 2025, the district road AN 54 between Birkach and state road 2221 near Röttenbach will be closed. This measure is part of a comprehensive ceiling construction program by the Ansbach district, which is scheduled to last until the end of July 2025. The renovation affects an approximately 840 meter long section of the AN 54 and includes a partial renewal of the roadway and the renewal of the edge edging. New asphalt will be laid across the entire expansion section.
The investment amount for this project amounts to around 305,000 euros. The district administrator Dr. Jürgen Ludwig, the mayor Sven Waidmann and representatives of the construction company Thannhauser Straßen und Tiefbau GmbH assessed the current condition of the road before construction began in order to underline the necessity of the work.
Detours and traffic control
To avoid the blocking, an appropriate redirection will be set up. This leads from Königshofen an der Heide via the Bechhofen roundabout and the Fröschau roundabout to Röttenbach and vice versa. The diversion route will be signposted locally to direct traffic accordingly. Local traffic will be made possible as much as possible during the construction period, which is important for the affected residents.
Already before that, from April 7, 2025, another part of the AN 54 in the through-town of Lammelbach will be closed to public traffic until the end of May. This is a ceiling construction project on an approximately 260 meter long section. Here too, measures such as the partial renovation of the roadway and the installation of a new asphalt surface are planned. The diversion leads via Leibelbach, Limbach, Häuslingen and Wieseth back to the AN 54 in Lammelbach.
As with the work in Röttenbach, the diversion route in Lammelbach will also be signposted locally to support road users. Local traffic will also be made possible as far as possible during construction work, which should reduce the restrictions for residents.
In summary, the Ansbach district will take action in the coming months through this extensive construction work in both Röttenbach and Lammelbach to improve the infrastructure and optimize traffic conditions in the long term. Citizens are asked to adapt to the changes in good time and plan alternative routes.
