Change in opening times: Marbach public library opens later!
The Marbach city library is informing you about a change to its opening hours. On Wednesday, June 25, 2025, the library will not open until 4:00 p.m. The reason for the later opening is a city staff meeting, like the Marbacher Zeitung reported. Families and users should prepare for the changed time.
Visitors can also return media that is returned via the return box free of charge the following day, but this does not apply to games and devices. The option to extend media is conveniently possible online via the FINDUS platform, which was developed specifically for the Marbach City Library. Digital media can also be borrowed from the Ludwigsburg online library.
Media offerings and services from the city library

The Library of Things allows users to borrow over 20 different items for household, technology, workshop, leisure and family purposes, provided they are over 18 years old and have a valid library card the Marbach city library describes.
Additional offers and services
The city library also provides WiFi access and three Internet workstations that are equipped with common office programs. Printouts can be made in the library for 0.20 euros for black and white and 0.70 euros for colored editions. Media requests can also be submitted using an online form, and there is the option of interlibrary loan for books that are not in the collection for a fee of 2 euros or 3.50 euros, depending on the source.
A special highlight is the free monthly newsletter, which provides current information and news from the library. The magazine café offers a comprehensive range of magazines and the opportunity to borrow older editions. The MarLies return box is available for media returns outside opening hours.
Finally, the city library is also part of the “WissensWandel” project, which is funded by the German Library Association as part of NEUSTART KULTUR. This commitment underlines the importance of the library as a central place for education and culture in Marbach.
