Massive construction work: L1129 between Freiberg and Pleidelsheim closed until September!

The region between Freiberg and Pleidelsheim is facing extensive road closures and diversions, which will be accompanied by major construction work from June 10, 2025. This particularly affects the state road L 1129 (Mundelsheimer Straße), which will be completely closed until September 14th. The background is renovation work on two bridges, namely the overpass of the L 1129 over the A 81 motorway and the Neckar Canal bridge near Freiberg. Loud Krzbb Among other things, work is being done on renewing the waterproofing and the road surface.

In order to minimize traffic disruptions during the Whitsun and summer holidays, the work is scheduled to cover this period. The construction projects are financed by the state of Baden-Württemberg, which is providing 300,000 euros for the Neckar Canal bridge, and by the federal government, which is providing 150,000 euros for the A 81 overpass.

Traffic control and diversions

The construction work will result in significant diversions. Traffic from Pleidelsheim is routed via the L 1125 (Pleidelsheimer Straße) to Ingersheim and from there reaches the L 1113 (Ludwigsburger Straße) to Freiberg. Increased traffic volumes can be expected, particularly in the town centers of Pleidelsheim and Ingersheim. Truck traffic heading towards the Beihingen industrial area will be rerouted via the Murr and Benningen surrounding roads.

Alternative routes along the Neckar are available for cyclists and pedestrians. These paths lead over the pedestrian bridge at Krähenbach and offer a safe way to bypass the construction site areas. These measures are expected to maintain mobility in the region during the work, even if restrictions are unavoidable.

Additional renovation work

Parallel to the measures between Freiberg and Pleidelsheim, renovation work on the Neckar Bridge is also taking place in Neckartailfingen. This work will last from March 3rd until the end of May 2025 and will also include a barrier-free conversion of the Neckarbrücke stop. Affected bus routes, such as the 188, 188A, 189, 189A and 808, will be rerouted and passengers are asked to check for changed services. The Eichendorffstrasse, Schillerstrasse and school stops cannot be reached during the work.

The city transport companies have made extensive adjustments to the timetables so that student services are guaranteed despite the construction-related changes. For example, students at the Auwiesenschule can use alternative stops to arrive at their schools on time for class times, while trips to Nürtingen and Altdorf are also taken into account.

Overall, these construction projects and the associated traffic measures make it clear that the expansion and renovation of the infrastructure in the region is a high priority in order to secure future mobility and sustainably improve traffic conditions.
