Gerlingen talents sprint to best times in summer all-around competitions!

Last weekend, more precisely on May 31st and June 1st, 2025, KSG Gerlingen took part in the SV Leonberg/Eltingen all-around competitions in the Bruckenbachstadion with a motivated team. In mid-summer temperatures, the young athletes performed remarkably and continued their training efforts throughout the season.

On the first day of the event, the Gerlingen children competed in the U12 and U14 age groups over 800 meters. Particularly noteworthy is the performance of Isabella, who achieved first place in the W10 age group with a new best time. She was followed by Amalia with the silver medal as well as Lilli and Jule, who also took good places in the chasing field. Tom was also happy about a race close to his best time. Clara impressed with a strong performance in the WU14 run.

Results and personal records

Anna-Lena took part in the running block competition, which is a secondary qualification for her for the U16 DM. She not only excelled in the 2000 meters, but also mastered disciplines such as throwing and jumping. Leni also showed an impressive performance and achieved a new personal best at this distance.

The second day of the competition began with the first thunderstorm warnings, which, however, did not lead to significant weather conditions. In the 800 meter race, Romy, Freya and Clarissa took the first three places, followed by Maike and Elena, with the latter also setting new best times. Janka made her debut in the 100 meters and 200 meters, while Pauline impressed with a second place in the 300 meter hurdles. In addition, Marietta sprinted to second place over 300 meters, while other athletes such as Leni, Emily and Maja also performed strongly.

Training sessions and team spirit

Despite organizational weaknesses and occasional waiting times, the events were a complete success as the athletes had a lot of fun. The competition was run under the motto “team spirit”, which was supported by the activities and training before the competitions.

In the training sessions, which began with breakfast at 7:30 a.m., the athletes were optimally prepared for the competitions. After warming up at the lake next to the stadium, distance runners completed their tempo runs while sprinters ran a pyramid of varying distances. Regeneration after training took place in the nearby mountain stream. After further sessions in the swimming pool or mountain biking, the energy stores were replenished with a pasta party.

The cozy evenings were enriched by Anna's homemade UNO, which further strengthened the team spirit and brought the athletes closer together.

In summary, it can be said that KSG Gerlingen experienced a successful and educational weekend that not only promoted sporting highlights, but also team cohesion. Further outstanding performances are already being planned as the young talents continue to be prepared for their competitions.
