Rottenburg celebrates: 50 years of Neckarfest with a colorful program!

The 50th Neckarfest opens today in Rottenburg in the Tübingen district, a regional highlight that attracts numerous visitors. The festival offers a varied program with gastro rafts, a flea and flea market as well as exciting boat races. Unfortunately, the planned cycling race had to be canceled for organizational reasons, which somewhat dampened the anticipation of the festival. Despite this cancellation, the activities are designed to cater for all ages and the weather promises to provide a beautiful setting. SWR reports.

Parallel to these celebrations, a special transport ministers' conference will take place in Berlin to address the future of the Deutschlandticket. Federal Transport Minister Patrick Schnieder from the CDU is leading the event and will work with state representatives to further develop the popular ticket.

Festivals and celebrations in Konstanz

Today the Konstanz Hospital Foundation is also celebrating its 800th anniversary, which will be honored in a celebratory setting. The foundation is known for its important contributions to the care of the sick, poor and elderly in the region. Baden-Württemberg's Health and Social Affairs Minister Manne Lucha from the Greens is also expected at the ceremony, who will emphasize the importance of this institution. Konstanz.de informs.

In addition, the Konstanz local council has made an important decision regarding the Germany ticket and the BW youth ticket. From now on there will be subsidies of up to 50 percent for holders of the Konstanz social pass. Specifically, those affected receive a monthly subsidy of 24.50 euros for the Germany ticket and 182.50 euros annually for the BW youth ticket. This support is intended to help people stay mobile and is part of the city's broader social commitment. The grant amounts are preliminary as final ticket prices for 2024 have yet to be determined.

Social passport and application process

In order to be eligible for the social pass, those interested must meet certain requirements. These include, among other things, recipients of citizen's benefit, basic security or housing benefit. It is also important that a current notification, for example from the job center, is presented. The social pass is valid for six months and can be extended up to three times. It should also be noted that the pass is not transferable and is only valid in conjunction with the identity card.

With these initiatives, the city of Konstanz is setting an example for social responsibility by focusing in particular on people in need. The application process is simple: forms are available both online and directly from the Social and Youth Welfare Office at Benediktinerplatz 2. The city is thus positioning itself as a reliable partner for its citizens in difficult life situations.
