FDP relies on Artur Schmidt: Solutions for medium-sized businesses and digitalization!

Artur Schmidt, a 36-year-old self-employed master hairdresser, was unanimously nominated by the FDP in Lauda for the state election campaign. This decision was made during a general meeting at which Tim Gacek, an 18-year-old high school student from Niederstetten, was elected as a replacement candidate. Schmidt has been actively involved in liberal politics in the region for many years and is now facing increasing challenges. In his introductory speech, he emphasized the important role of medium-sized businesses and the regional economy, which is currently struggling with bureaucratic hurdles, high energy costs and a shortage of skilled workers in the Main-Tauber district. Main Echo reports.

As part of his political agenda, Schmidt is calling for specific relief for companies and increased support for innovation. Another central point of his election campaign strategy is strengthening dual training, which is crucial for the region's future competitiveness. Infrastructure and digitalization in rural areas are also among his main concerns. Schmidt recognizes essential problems in this area: dilapidated roads, an inadequate public transport system and a lack of broadband internet in many communities. He plans to campaign vigorously for modern transport infrastructure and accelerated fiber optic expansion.

Commitment to help and support

Schmidt also wants to reduce bureaucratic hurdles in volunteer work and increase financial support to promote volunteer work. When it comes to healthcare and geriatric care, he emphasizes long-term planning, which is crucial for the future of inpatient healthcare. “We have to do more for the people here,” he says.

Schmidt's replacement candidate, Tim Gacek, is currently in the twelfth grade of the nutritional science high school in Bad Mergentheim. Gacek wants to show that young people are actively committed to their values and are willing to make difficult decisions. “It is important to rebuild trust in politics and the generation of young people,” explains Gacek. FDP district chairman Jürgen Vossler also spoke positively about the election of Schmidt and Gacek and described the two as competent and committed candidates.

Digitalization in rural areas

Another important aspect that affects rural regions is the promotion of digital change. The “Land.Digital” initiative, which was launched by the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture, actively supports this change. The aim is to use modern digital information and communication technologies in rural areas. Since the measure began in 2017, 48 model projects have been implemented in various subject areas, including business, voluntary work, mobility, education and health. BMEL informs.

Example projects include successful initiatives such as “Bremke.Digital,” which promotes the networking of villages through an app, and “DICTUM Rescue,” an app for medical professionals who need to communicate with non-German-speaking patients. These projects are part of a comprehensive digitalization strategy that is intended not only to improve the quality of life in rural regions, but also to promote economic development.

The challenges are enormous, but with strong commitment and the right concepts, these regions can be sustainably strengthened. Schmidt and Gacek have decided to make a decisive contribution to solving these problems.
