Their actions could be punished with up to five years in prison under the Weapons and War Weapons Control Act - a statement that raises questions about safety on our streets!

In addition, the arrested people were in close contact with a convicted Reich citizen who was imprisoned in 2023 for attempted murder. A web of connections and violence runs through the scene that continues to grow! According to the 2024 Constitutional Protection Report, 4,200 Reich citizens are already active in Baden-Württemberg - and that's just the tip of the iceberg, because nationwide there are a frightening 25,000!

The roots of madness

But what drives these people to terror? The radicalization within the Reichsbürger scene has reached dramatic proportions in recent years. They received little attention until the mid-2010s, but then several violent incidents occurred. The existence of the ideology, which is immeasurable and fed with conspiracy theories, could justify uncontrollable violence. 10% of these “sovereignists” are considered violence-oriented!

The recent events in Boxberg are not just an isolated event, but part of a worrying development that endangers the stability of our basic democratic order. The need for security measures is more urgent than ever. It is crucial that police and authorities are made aware of the warning signs of these dangerous ideologies before there is another blood stain on our streets!
