The longing for tradition and conviviality is fulfilled here in a shocking way! But that's not enough! Right at the beginning of the festival, the guests experienced an official tapping of the keg, which heralded the auditory festivity! A six-piece band from Chiemgau heated up the audience with rousing music, while the city band Wiesensteig and the Bavarian “Heischneida” provided a musical explosion! It was crazy! Eyewitnesses report an energetic live band that managed to get even the most lethargic of visitors moving!
And the evening had even more to offer: DJ Eazy rocked the night from 11 p.m. with party music while the dance floor was buzzing! Even the little ones didn't miss out: pony rides, goal wall shooting, crate climbing and a huge bouncy castle made the children's hearts beat faster. A true paradise for the whole family!
Tradition meets innovation!
But the festival wasn't just a feast for the eyes and ears! The technical equipment in the village center shone with modern LED screens, which made for an impressive backdrop! Helpers from the Merklinger club community - and especially many committed young people - played a significant role in making this event a complete success!
The “Merklinger Noodles” are not only a culinary highlight, but also a heritage that is close to the hearts of the villagers. The stories surrounding this traditional pastry are legendary! For example, a priest once had to end the service after 45 minutes in order not to burn the bread! An adventure fairy tale that keeps the community alive!
In a baking course led by the passionate Rosemarie Salzmann, the participants learned the art of baking pasta! A nine-year-old boy named Peter courageously joined the other seven participants to keep the ancient recipe alive. The aura of conviviality and creative community permeated the room like the wonderful aromas of the baked bread!
