Choose the best neighborhoods: Participate in the Neighborhood Prize now!

The choice of the best neighborhoods is coming up in the Fulda region. The Fulda neighborhood price, awarded by the antonius organization, recognizes particularly good neighborly structures. From theJune 11th to 17th, 2025Citizens can vote for their favorites both by post and online.

Six outstanding neighborhoods made it to the finals. These were selected by an independent jury who examined the applicants' particular social initiatives and community spirit. The award ceremony will take place onJune 24, 2025, with the prize money being distributed as follows: First place receives2,000 euros, second and third places respectively1,000 euros, in addition there is a surprise price of1,000 euros.

The finalists in detail

The finalists impressively show what neighborhood life in Fulda can look like:

• Poppenhausen-Tränkhof: Eine Nachbarschaft, die seit 40 Jahren besteht und regelmäßige Treffen im Vorgarten von Helga und Manfred Mihm organisiert. Sie bieten Unterstützung bei Erkrankungen und alltäglichen Aufgaben an und haben sogar einen Spielplatz in Eigenleistung erneuert.
• Fulda-Im Fischfeld: Hier leben rund 18 Haushalte, die zweimal jährlich ein spezielles Sperrmüllfest mit Krönung der „Sperrmüllkönigin“ feiern. Auch die Integration von Geflüchteten ist ein aktives Anliegen.
• Neuhof-Rommerz: Diese Nachbarschaft unterstützt seit 2017 eine eritreische Familie und lebt Hilfsbereitschaft durch Deutschunterricht und gemeinsame Projekte, wie die Dachsanierung des örtlichen Pfarrhauses.
• Petersberg-Almendorf: Mit 12 Häusern aus den 1970er Jahren werden hier regelmäßig Straßenfeste organisiert. Das Miteinander ist geprägt von offener Nachbarschaft, wo Kinder frei spielen können.
• Poppenhausen-Maulkuppenstraße: Diese Gemeinschaft von über 20 Haushalten setzt sich für Umweltschutzprojekte ein und feiert jedes Jahr ein großes Straßenfest.
• Petersberg-Liegnitzer Straße: Gemischte Nachbarschaft aus älteren Menschen und jungen Familien, die sich gegenseitig bei Gartenarbeiten helfen und regelmäßige Feste organisieren.

How to vote

Voting takes place via a special website or by post. It is important that your first and last name and address are included. Each citizen only has one vote so as not to distort the exciting competition.
