Anniversary SENSATION: 51 years of OGV celebrated – a celebration for young and old!

An unforgettable spectacle took place in Hochdorf on July 10, 2025! The OGV's grandiose "50 + 1" anniversary celebration was nothing less than an epic celebration of club life, which began a full hour after the annual general meeting, at 3 p.m. Have you heard about the incredible postponement due to renovations? Yes, this great event was actually postponed by a whole year to celebrate the impressive results of the renovation work on the railway keeper's house and the barn!

All members and the enthusiastic public were invited to the celebration to view the newly designed premises. With delicious coffee and tempting cake, the dynamic Ms. Hopp gave an emotional look back at 51 years full of incomparable experiences at the OGV. The whole town will be talking about this! Mayor Jäckle himself didn't miss the opportunity to thank the guests with touching greetings.

A celebration for the whole family!

But that wasn't all! The children were busy painting, crafting and playing in a colorful seminar room - how exciting! A sensational children's dance group captivated everyone and was rewarded with cheering applause and even a refreshing ice cream for their performance!

While the little ones played outside, the steamroller “Wally” shone in all its glory at 4 p.m. and the crowd welcomed it with joyful cheers! The hall was the scene of a worthy honor: long-standing members, including the legendary Hermann Weber, the initiator of the club, were celebrated! Incredible but true: A total of 12 people were recognized for their incredible 50 years of membership, not to mention numerous honors for 40, 25 and 10 years of loyal membership. This is a masterpiece that puts everything in the shade!

A culinary adventure!

The climatic conditions were ideal for the atmospheric raffle, where raffle tickets were sold and all winnings passed into new hands! A mysterious smoker was put into operation and the “meat in the wake” became an absolute hit! The delicious grilled sausages and the extensive range of meat were enthusiastically received by the guests. A celebration that was an unforgettable experience for both children and adults!

But that's not all! The spectacular Kürnbach Steam Festival is also just around the corner! On June 12, 2025, the Upper Swabian Museum Village of Kürnbach will once again be the scene of historic steam engines that will make the hearts of technology enthusiasts beat faster. This is the 25th edition of this fabulous event, taking place from June 12th to 22nd, 2025 and showcasing steamrollers, tractors and locomotives over 100 years old! Visitors will also have the opportunity to admire the famous rarity, the steam tractor “Lena” from 1905 - one of only five examples in the world!

This festival not only features spectacular steam engines, but also incredible culinary offerings! Treat yourself to fresh steamed dumplings and potatoes from a historic potato steamer. Everything your heart desires is offered here!
