Taekwondo Marburg shines: four medals at the championship!

The German Taekwondo Championship and the Youth Cup in Aichwald were a complete success for the Taekwondo Marburg team. A total of eight athletes took part in the competition and were able to win four medals together, including one gold medal, two silver medals and one bronze medal. Particularly outstanding was the performance of Heekyung Reimann, who won the gold medal in the “Poomsae – Freestyle – Para” category and was also awarded the Gold Competitive Sports Badge of Honor for her successes at the European Championships in Tallinn. This award highlights her impressive career, marked by numerous victories, such as first place in various international tournaments and rankings in recent years. Details can be found on the DTU page about Heekyung Reimann.

In the preliminary round, Reimann showed a strong performance and clearly prevailed in the knockout system. While other team members, such as Kim Louise Altmann and Nina Hoppe, were unable to qualify for the final, the young talents shone on the second day of competition. Effi Braulke and Nima Bodenbrenner became runner-up German Youth Cup winners in the “LK II Pair” category for the seven to eleven year old age group, which impressively illustrates the club's successful work.

Additional talent achievements

The Marburg team showed their potential as a cohesive unit. Helena Stauzebach, Lara Zimmermann and Sarah Habersack won the bronze medal in the team competition for the 15 to 17 year old age group. Nima Bodenbrenner also impressed in the individual and secured second place in the “LK II” category for seven to eleven year olds. These achievements are a testament not only to the hard work of the athletes, but also to the coaches and the entire team that supports them.

Although some athletes such as Helena Stauzebach, Mariella Hoffmann and Mathilda Schäfer were narrowly eliminated from the race, they still presented strong performances that have resulted in many successes at international level in the past. The website Poomsae-TaekwondoData provides an overview of the successes of all Poomsae athletes, including Reimann, who has already collected numerous medals in international competitions.

The way back to Marburg is not only adorned by four medals, but also by the athletes' high motivation for upcoming competitions. The results from Aichwald impressively show the development of the club and the talent that is supported there. A promising future is emerging for the athletes of Taekwondo Marburg.
