Mötzingen is planning major land consolidation: 283 hectares of paths are being modernized!

The municipality of Mötzingen is facing an important project: land consolidation is to take place on an area of 283 hectares. This measure covers a total of 667 parcels and affects around 370 owners. The aim of the land consolidation is to modernize and repair three main agricultural routes. Specifically, this is the main path towards Bondorf, the path to the Mötzinger Schützenhaus and a field path from the leisure area towards Öschelbronn.

An information event was recently held, attended by 110 interested owners. This event showed that there is no resistance to the project. The land consolidation authority already recognizes the requirements for inclusion in the “work program”, which underlines the positive development of the process. The existing agricultural roads are badly damaged and no longer meet the requirements of today. In addition, the recreational use of the paths leads to conflict situations in encounters.

Concrete solutions for land consolidation

In order to overcome these challenges, various solution approaches have been formulated. This includes:

  • Klare Grundstücksverhältnisse
  • Einheitliche Breiten der Wege
  • Schaffung von Ausweichbuchten
  • Verbesserung der Querung der Kreisstraße 1076

The costs of the procedure are fully financed by the state of Baden-Württemberg. It is expected that the federal, state and LEADER programs will contribute at least 69% of the estimated implementation costs of around 1.6 million euros, while the municipality of Mötzingen will have to contribute almost 500,000 euros. However, owners are exempt from the costs; All areas required for communal facilities must be provided by the municipality.

The further course of the procedure

During the process, the affected owners elect a board of directors. All planned measures must be carried out in close coordination between the community and the elected board before the local council makes a final implementation decision. The realization of the land consolidation is expected for the years 2027/2028. The amount of the community share and the possible participation of the owners are currently being discussed within the community. In this context, the mayor emphasizes that the first step is to determine the framework conditions and that no final measures have yet been decided.
