Böblingen is planning 5th charity swimming: every lane counts for a good cause!

The 5th charity swim will take place in the Böblingen outdoor pool from June 23rd to 28th, 2025, organized by the Lions Club Böblingen-Schönbuch. This annual event offers all participants the opportunity to get involved in a good cause. The motto "Every lane counts. Everyone takes part!" underlines the communal nature of the campaign.

The sponsors of charity swimming support every lap swum with a financial contribution, 100 percent of the proceeds of which go to charitable projects. The aim is to use the funds collected to promote the use of hospital clowns in the Böblingen Children's Hospital, who bring joy and support, especially to sick children. Further support measures include programs for the development of social skills in children and young people, as well as support for the association for children with cancer in Böblingen. This ensures that the funds are used directly for children in need, as Stuttgarter Nachrichten reports.

Event details

One of the highlights of the charity swim is the appearance of the patrons, Mayor Dr. Stefan Belz and Bundestag member Marc Biadacz, who will also take part in the swimming on Saturday, June 28, 2025, from 9:30 a.m. This campaign is not only a sporting event, but also offers the opportunity to get to know the popular clinic clowns - Mima, Fredolina, Schoschanna and Beppo - in person. On the same day there will be a cake sale from 12:00 p.m., the proceeds of which will also go to a good cause, while stocks last.

Overall, charity swimming aims to encourage as many people as possible to take part. Whether through your own swimming performance or bringing along sponsors – every contribution counts. “It is important that the local community comes together to donate to such a valuable and necessary service,” said a Lions Club spokesperson. Those interested can find further information about donation options on the website of the Lions Club Böblingen-Schönbuch.
