Next Sunday, October 19th, an aircraft bomb from the Second World War will be defused in Stuttgart-Weilimdorf. This bomb, which was discovered during a probe in the Lindental, weighs around 240 kilograms and therefore poses a serious danger. The city of Stuttgart has announced that around 3,500 people will have to be evacuated while defusing takes place SWR reports.

The evacuation will begin at 9 a.m. and the police will coordinate the necessary measures. A security area with a radius of around 400 meters around the site will be set up. During this time, driving through the security area and the B295 is not possible and traffic will be redirected. The exact duration of the evacuation is currently unclear and depends on the condition of the explosive device.

Affected people can stay in the sports hall of the Wolfbusch School (Köstlinstraße 76) while the evacuation measures are carried out. In particular, people with physical limitations or special care needs are asked to contact the Office of Public Order by Wednesday, October 15th at the latest.
