Heroic act in the Allgäu: Young firefighter saves children from flames!

On the morning of last Tuesday, a dramatic event occurred in the Wittwais settlement in Wangen. Bastian Prinz, a trainee in a carpentry shop, showed extraordinary courage at a critical moment and saved several children from a burning building. This represented a major challenge that the young firefighter faced with determination.

Together with a colleague, Bastian Prinz immediately took action when alarming smoke signals were visible from the house. Within a very short time they managed to get the children out of the danger area and into safety. This impressive effort left a lasting impression on viewers and the community and highlights the importance of making quick and bold decisions in emergencies.

Sustainable building in Württemberg

This new building is not only functional, but also innovative in its execution: the wooden construction of the building was implemented with 500 cubic meters of wood, and the facade cladding consists of high-quality three-layer solid wood panels, treated with a deep black wood stain. In order to achieve a child-friendly appearance, the facade is divided into five equal sections.

Since its founding in 1927, Heyd carpentry has established itself as an expert in new construction, extensions, wooden house construction and the restoration of listed buildings. When Thomas Heyd took over in 1991, the company also received numerous awards. In 2021, the carpentry business was recognized as a “top training company” by the Heilbronn-Franken Chamber of Crafts and is currently training seven trainees. The importance of the training work will clearly support not only the projects, but also the quality of the components.

The recently completed construction site in Heilbronn was also progressing at an impressive pace: the wall and ceiling elements were assembled in just ten days, while the external and internal walls were already prefabricated in the workshop, regardless of the weather.

Overall, this example shows how modern carpenters in Germany not only advance the construction of new facilities, but also act responsibly in their training and practices, while others like Bastian Prinz become heroes in an emergency.
