New hot dog snack bar Hotdogle” in Stuttgart: 100 free hot dogs at the opening!

The new hot dog snack bar “Hotdogle” opened in Stuttgart on May 23, 2025 at 2 p.m. The brothers Süleyman (44) and Sahin Salman (38), who are already established in the catering industry with their businesses “Smashburger0711” and “San&Soup”, are bringing something new to the city with “Hotdogle”. Their idea: to bring back hot dogs that haven't been offered in Stuttgart for decades and to focus on quality and affordable prices. The hot dogs offered in the snack bar cost between 3.90 euros and 4.50 euros and include free toppings.

The selection that “Hotdogle” has to offer is particularly interesting. In addition to classic halal sausages made from poultry and beef, there is also a vegan sausage variant. On opening day, 100 free hot dogs were provided for the first guests, and the choice of three different flavors was very well received. In the catering scene, such offers show a certain spirit of optimism, which is underlined by the operators' considerations about franchise expansion. The first inquiries have already been received, including from Rems Park in Waiblingen.

The gastronomy landscape in Stuttgart

The opening of “Hotdogle” is part of a larger trend in Stuttgart, where more and more restaurants are springing up, especially those that specialize in burgers. According to a report from Stuttgarter Nachrichten, Berlin chain Goldies opened a pop-up store on Tübinger Straße on January 10, 2025, while Burgermeister will soon open its doors at the new building on Rotebühlplatz. In the past year, at least six new burger restaurants have emerged in Stuttgart, balancing innovative concepts and tried-and-tested classics.

  • Big Burger House – Februar, Osten
  • Mayhosh Burger & Breakfast – Mai, Feuerbach
  • Bull Burgerhouse – Juni, Calwer Straße
  • Burger Brothers – September, Hauptstätter Straße
  • Smash it! Burger Foodtruck – Ostendplatz
  • Smash FC Foodtruck – Festen Standort seit Dezember an der ehemaligen Fritty Bar

The catering industry represents an important economic factor in Germany, even if it has been exposed to tough challenges in recent years. A report shows that the number of employees in the hospitality sector in September 2023 was 6.7 percent below 2019 levels. Drink sales in particular recorded a decline of 12 percent. In contrast, there appears to be demand for dining options, with 78 percent of diners preferring to dine at restaurants using local produce.

Sales in the fast food market were over 620 million euros in 2022, and consumers are showing a growing interest in healthier foods. Over half of those surveyed believe that catering establishments should raise awareness of healthy food. Trends such as sustainable offerings and cloud kitchens are also gaining momentum, casting the restaurant industry in a new light.

The opening of “Hotdogle” and the development of new gastronomy concepts in Stuttgart not only mark a gastronomic comeback, but also reflect how important it is to serve new culinary demands of consumers and to pay attention to cultural diversity. The developments will certainly continue to cause a stir in the future, and it will be exciting to see how the scene continues to develop.
