Bowling for the world record: Ditzinger duo fights against time!

Uwe Luckscheiter from Ditzingen and Rainer Hagenlocher from Freiberg am Neckar are on the verge of breaking a significant bowling world record. On October 28th and 29th, 2025, the two athletes plan to play at the bowling alleys from 3:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. the following day Feuerbach Sports Association to set a new 24-hour record in Stuttgart. Their goal is to beat the existing record of 26,916 points, set by a Croatian duo in 1996.

Luckscheiter and Hagenlocher are not only active athletes, but also experienced bowlers. Both members of the bowling department of the Feuerbach 1883 e.V. sports association have an impressive CV, including a total of 15 world record entries. Their last 24-hour bowling record was about 20 years ago. They are particularly motivated by Luckscheiter's upcoming 60th birthday, which makes the record attempt a special occasion.

Strategy and training preparation

To successfully break the record, they must average at least 131 points per game. Each of the two bowlers will take turns throwing 25 balls at each of the nine pins. In order to meet the high demands, the two are currently training two to three times a week and have also completed several ten-hour test runs to improve their stamina.

The bowling champions plan to listen to 80s music throughout the competition to combat fatigue. Each score is checked after every hour, with breaks for relaxation, eating and massages having to be specifically planned. The aim is to achieve a consistent score in clever short breaks and thus drive the total number up.

Challenges and uncertainties

Despite their careful preparation, there are numerous risks that could jeopardize the success of the project. Injuries, force majeure such as a power outage or the fact that the record is simply unattainable are among the possible difficulties that the two athletes will have to face.

With the support of their club and their many years of experience, Luckscheiter and Hagenlocher hope to achieve their 10th world record on October 29th at 3:30 p.m. and thus enter their name in the Guinness Book of Records. An exciting event for the bowling and sports community that will certainly delight many spectators.

In any case, the athletes will not be alone that day, as many fans and supporters will gather in the Hugo Kunzi Hall in Stuttgart Feuerbach to follow their project up close. They start the competition confidently and hope to make history with their world record attempt.
