Angela Glajcar returns: paper art highlight in Waiblingen!
Angela Glajcar, the internationally celebrated paper sculptor, returns once again to Waiblingen to present her impressive art. Her installation “Terforation” can currently be seen in St. Michael's Church, which not only offers visitors visual impressions but also space for reflection. This presentation is part of the scholarship for drawing and paper art from the city of Waiblingen, which is now entering its second round. Loud ZVW Glajcar was named the main fellow.
The scholarship, which will take place in summer 2026, will see Glajcar work as a mentor for selected young artists. During the six-week work stay, she will pass on her experiences and knowledge and thus contribute to the promotion of young artists. The call for tenders for young talents begins in autumn and promises new perspectives for the art scene in Waiblingen.
The versatile artistic practice of Angela Glajcar
Angela Glajcar studied sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Nuremberg and initially worked with wood and metal. But over time she discovered the flexibility of paper, which led to a turning point in her artistic work. Her works are often site-specific and create a special depth effect through exciting insights and perspectives. Dr. Anja Gerdemann, director of the Stihl Waiblingen gallery, praises Glajcar's unusual use of paper as a material. With 500 square meters of column-free space, the gallery offers a suitable platform to present your works appropriately.
Glajcar sees her mentorship role as a valuable opportunity to promote artistic exchange. She is looking forward to working with the young artists and offering them support during the work phase in summer 2026 in the Galerie im Kameralamt.
The return of Angela Glajcar and the ongoing commitment to young talent underline Waiblingen's position as a center for contemporary art and paper art, which is becoming increasingly important in the region. The coming months promise exciting developments and ideas that will revitalize the art scene in the city.
