Urbach gets a new doctor: medical care for the region secured!
The Medical Care Center (MVZ) in Urbach is of central importance for the health care of the region the Rhine newspaper reported. The sponsor of the MVZ is the Dierdorf/Selters hospital company, which has held intensive discussions with the Puderbach municipality and the Urbach local community in recent weeks in order to develop a joint financial concept. The aim of these discussions is to permanently maintain the MVZ in its current form.
The MVZ in Urbach is very popular and is often visited by patients from Urbach and the surrounding region. In order to further improve medical care, the family practice team was recently expanded to include a new doctor.
Expansion of the practice team
Since mid-February 2025, Alexandra Nicole Kamphausen has joined the existing practice team, which consists of Christine Hartmann, Birgül Hoever, Dr. Refai Refaat and Dr. Anand Shelke passes. Kamphausen brings extensive experience from various clinics and practices, having previously worked as a district general practitioner in Vilhelmina, Sweden. Her experience includes patient care across sectors and disciplines.
Contact with the MVZ practice in Urbach came about through her emergency doctor work. Kamphausen emphasizes the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration within the team and with other colleagues to ensure optimal patient care. This principle is also confirmed by the Dierdorf/Selters hospital company, which has established a special form of cooperation in medical care.
Importance for the region
The MVZ Urbach is part of a network of eleven practices at five locations that offer a wide range of medical services. MVZ managing director Guido Wernert emphasizes the need for these structures for medical care in rural areas.
