Eintracht Frankfurt is planning spectacular transfers: Burkardt in focus!

Eintracht Frankfurt is facing a significant change in squad planning for the coming season. Sports director Markus Krösche has already expressed concrete interest in several players in order to strengthen the team for the challenges of the next Bundesliga season. The focus is particularly on Ritsu Doan from SC Freiburg and Jonathan Burkardt from Mainz 05, while the search for further reinforcements for the offense and defense continues at the same time.

Ritsu Doan, 26 years old and with a contract until 2026, scored an impressive 10 goals and 8 assists in 34 games last season. The transfer fee for the Japanese international is estimated at around 20 million euros. Eintracht Frankfurt could bring in Igor Matanovic, a talented striker, as part of a transfer for Doan. Krösche's goal is to put the squad together early in order to avoid “last-minute” deals. The only transfer that has been fixed so far is that of 17-year-old Love Arrhov, who will not join the first team until January 2026, reports fr.de.

New arrivals and departures

Eintracht Frankfurt has just decided to increase its capital by 25.7 million euros by issuing new shares. This could enable the club to realize the desired transfers. While Burkardt has apparently decided to move to Frankfurt, a financial agreement with Mainz 05 is still pending. The 23-year-old striker is also the top German goalscorer in the Bundesliga with 18 goals and is looking for new challenges, such as sportschau.de reported.

Jobe Bellingham from Sunderland, who was also considered a potential newcomer, has now turned down Frankfurt and opted for Borussia Dortmund. Eintracht Frankfurt also relies on experienced players, including Ko Itakura from Mönchengladbach. The negotiations to extend the contract with Tuta, however, are at a standstill when it comes to an important defensive aspect.

Transfer record and future ambitions

In the transfer period so far, Eintracht Frankfurt has achieved a balance of income of 126.54 million euros and expenses of 76.85 million euros, which means a positive transfer balance of +49.69 million euros, as shown on transfermarkt.de is to be read.

Robin Koch is also the focus of Eintracht and should be retained for the long term. The 27-year-old international's contract runs until 2027. Some other players, including Eric Dina Ebimbe, Niels Nkounkou and Mo Dahoud, as well as the loaned Nacho Ferri, Aurelio Buta and Hrvoje Smolcic, no longer have any prospects at the club. Krösche therefore has to re-evaluate which players are better suited to compete in the team.
