New restaurant Alexandra's Fairway brings Swabian cuisine to Haghof!

In Alfdorf, the restaurant “Alexandra’s Fairway” has opened in the Haghof Golf and Country Club. Alexandra Strauß-Düser is the new tenant and brings with her many years of experience in the catering industry. Growing up in a family of restaurateurs, she has already worked as a hotel manager in various hotels and is also experienced in the catering sector. The opening took place in spring 2025 after the previous tenant withdrew.

The restaurant has a clear focus on regional and seasonal cuisine with a focus on freshness. “Down-to-earth and Swabian” describes the philosophy of the dishes that do not contain any convenience products. The dishes on offer include classics such as Maultaschen, lentils with spaetzle and baked potatoes with herb quark. This selection reflects the tradition of Swabian cuisine, which is known for its hearty and hearty dishes.

Focus on regionality and seasonal products

Particularly noteworthy is the wine selection, which is currently limited to the Fellbach wine growers. However, Alexandra Strauß-Düser plans to also include young Wengerters from the region on the menu in order to further expand the offering. The aim here is to underline the regional connection of the gastronomy concept.

The restaurant is not only open to golfers, but is also open to hikers, cyclists and parties. Opening hours are almost daily from 10:30 a.m., Mondays from 2:30 p.m. and the restaurant is closed on Thursdays. The kitchen closes around 8:30 p.m., giving visitors plenty of time to enjoy the regional specialties.

Culture and events in the restaurant

Another highlight is a concert with Jürgen Hörig, which is planned for July 26, 2025. Entrance tickets can be purchased at a price of 15 euros at the golf club secretariat. These cultural events are intended to offer guests an additional experience and strengthen the community in the club.

Swabian cuisine will continue to play a central role in the offering at “Alexandra’s Fairway” in the near future. Among the most famous dishes are Maultaschen, whose origins go back to a legend that says that monks invented them to hide meat during Lent. Other specialties include Gaisburger Marsch, onion cake and Swabian sausage salad, a popular dish that is often served as a snack. Interchalet reports that Swabian cuisine is known for its low-meat dishes, which is due to the difficult livestock farming conditions in the Swabian Alb.

“Alexandra’s Fairway” is becoming the new meeting place for gourmet lovers who appreciate the tradition and freshness of Swabian cuisine. It remains exciting to see how the restaurant will position itself in the local gastronomy scene and how it will succeed in further expanding its connections to the rich cuisine of the Swabian Alb.
