100 years of the Bargau Music Association: Festival weekend full of highlights!
An extraordinary festival weekend begins in Schwäbisch Gmünd in the Bargau district on May 29, 2025: The Bargau music association is celebrating its 100th anniversary. This anniversary will be celebrated with a colorful program from Thursday to Saturday, May 31st. The festivities start just in time for Father's Day on the festival lawn next to the FEIN Hall at Himmelreichstrasse 14/1. Here visitors are offered barbecue offerings, refreshing drinks and a convivial atmosphere. Remzeitung reports that the event is taking place as part of loving planning and organization that has been going on for months.
One of the special highlights of the weekend is an open-air concert on Friday evening, May 30th, with the Austrian band “Seiler and Speer”. The band brings their new album and starts at 9 p.m. Before that, the opening band “PÄM” will be on stage at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are available both online and by telephone from Walter Nagel (07173/5584).
Diverse program over the long weekend
The festivities begin on Ascension Day, May 29, with a 9:30 a.m. service themed “In This Moment.” This is accompanied musically by the choir and the band Horizont. The day also offers numerous musical contributions, including from internal bands and music clubs from the region. Thursday's program includes:
- 11-13 Uhr: Musikalische Unterhaltung mit dem Musikverein Bargau
- 13:45 Uhr: Auftritt des Musikvereins Durlangen
- 16 Uhr: Auftritt des Musikvereins Wißgoldingen
- 18 Uhr: Party im Zelt mit „the bbänd“
- Ab 22 Uhr: „Los dos Promillos“ an der mvBARgau
The event will also be attractive for families. On Thursday there will be a candy bar and a balloon station for children from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The city of Schwäbisch Gmünd highlights that more than 700 services will be provided during the festival weekend to ensure food and drink provision for guests.
Parade and graduation ceremony
On Saturday, May 31st, the festive highlight will take place in the form of a parade. At 4 p.m. the participating bands and groups meet in the Scheuelberg Stadium. Afterwards there are greetings and the parade begins at 5 p.m., which takes visitors through the streets of Bargau before ending in the festival tent. The band “2 bböhmisch” provides entertainment here, followed by an after-movement party with “Falkenjagd-Echo”.
The festival promises not only a cultural experience, but also sociable hours and lots of fun for young and old. There are sufficient parking spaces available on all days and travel is made easier by signposted paths.
