TASV Hessigheim triumphs 3-0 in the district cup final!
TASV Hessigheim impressively won 3-0 against TSV Münchingen in the final of the Enz/Murr District Cup on May 30, 2025. Around 1,500 spectators experienced an exciting game that began with an early penalty for Hessigheim. Filippo Russo scored from the spot in the fourth minute, followed by further goals from Jannik Egger in the eighth minute and Max Keller in the 52nd minute. Coach Andreas Lechner was overjoyed after the victory and reported a long and happy celebration that followed the triumph. For him personally, the cup competition is not his top priority, but he was impressed by the team's mentality: "incredible will" and a bit of luck in the game contributed to the successful defense of the title. The trophy will have a special place in the clubhouse to commemorate this special victory.
TASV Hessigheim is more than just a football club. It has around 800 members and offers two main departments: gymnastics and football. The club places a particular focus on youth work. There are offers for children and young people aged 2 to 12 and youth teams in all age groups in football, partly in cooperation with FV Ingersheim. To strengthen the community, the TASV regularly organizes popular events, such as the children's carnival in February, the torchlight hike in December and the club penalty shootout championship, which takes place at Pentecost.
Volunteering and a sense of community
The activities of TASV Hessigheim not only benefit the young members, but also the adults. The club offers health courses, gymnastics for everyone and active football teams. The members emphasize the special camaraderie in the club, which is particularly evident at home games. The fan culture has also developed in recent years, a sign of how important the club is to the community. The festivals, such as the Star Festival in November, are organized with a lot of dedication and give members and guests unforgettable moments.
Sports clubs play a crucial role in German society. According to Statista, in 2024 there were around 85,900 sports clubs in Germany that provide access to sports facilities and equipment. These clubs are organized into sports associations, and the German Football Association (DFB) is the largest among them with around 7.7 million members. Interest in popular sports is growing in Hesse and other regions, even if the numbers have declined slightly in recent years. Nevertheless, the number of club members remains stable.
For TASV Hessigheim, victory in the district cup not only stands for sporting success, but also for the cohesion and passion that binds the members together. It is a sign that the club was born to achieve great things, despite the challenges that the times bring.
