Experience nature: summer walk in Kornwestheim on June 27th!

The Kornwestheim Fruit and Horticultural Association (OGV) invites you to a summer walk on Friday, June 27th at 2 p.m. The meeting point is the large walnut tree opposite Drinks Braun at Lammstrasse 14. The event is open not only to club members, but also to interested citizens who are enthusiastic about nature and the environment.

Under the technical direction of Dirk Maisenhölder, the civil engineering department manager for the city of Kornwestheim, the walk will take you through the area around the Holzbach. This body of water is not only a tributary of the Neckar, but also serves as an important element for the local flora and fauna. The Holzbach is also known under the names Gänsbach (upper reaches), Mussenbach (middle reaches) and Gumpenbach (lower section). There is a water source on Badstrasse/Bachstrasse, which provides additional amounts of water when it rains.

Planned renovation measures

Part of the Holzbach has already been exposed between Lammstrasse and Mühlhäuser Strasse, which should help improve the quality of life in the area. There are also plans to renovate and enlarge the lake below the Gumpenbach Bridge on the B27. These measures aim to create climatic balance and valuable habitats for flora and fauna. In addition, a new footpath will be created from the Lammstrasse area to the Haldenrain green belt.

After the hike, participants are invited to end the day with coffee and cake in the “Trefferia” café at the Globus hardware store at Leibnizstrasse 10. The walk is scheduled to end at around 4 p.m.

Membership in the OGV Kornwestheim

As [ogv-kornwestheim.de](http://www.ogv-kornwestheim.de/member- Werden.html) emphasizes, the association relies on active members who are committed to the association's goals. Individual membership costs €10 and family memberships start from €3. The aim of the association is to promote the interest of children and young people in fruit and garden cultivation.

The club's central goals include, among other things, the promotion of fruit and horticulture, amateur fruit growing and landscaping. Nature conservation and support for bird protection and beekeeping are also important topics. The OGV also offers information and advice in all related matters and promotes a sociable club life with various activities.
