Gerlinger Sprintstars shine: records and golden times in the stadium!

Last Saturday, June 28th, exciting sprint competitions of the KSG running team took place in the Festival Meadow Athletics Stadium. The event went parallel to the sound check from Ed Sheeran in the MHP Arena, which caused a special atmosphere. Sprint stars of the KSG running team such as Leni, Pauline, Leyla, Romy, Marietta, Morena, Viviann, Franz, Josè and Ikenna competed in their disciplines.

The achievements of Ikenna Igbokwe, who sprinted 100 meters in 11.31 seconds, and Leyla Sentürk, which achieved a remarkable brand under 13 seconds with its time of 12.88 seconds, were particularly outstanding. Leyla also qualified for the WLV sprint squad and also mastered the 400 meters in remarkable 61 seconds. The KSG sprint girls strengthen their shape by confirming the best time over the 4 × 100 meters in 54 seconds. These are impressive achievements that demonstrate the strong team dynamics of the KSG running team.

Successful U20 team at German road running championships

The KSG running team had already celebrated a significant success at the German road run championships in Saarbrücken. There the team won over 10 kilometers in the WU20 and prevailed over a five -minute lead over the second -placed LC Rehlingen and seven minutes on Dortmund. This was not only a clear victory, but also an impressive performance, since they undercut the German record from 2006 by 36 seconds.

The members of the successful team, Kira Weis (35:10 min), Lisa Maisch (38:17 min), Pia Kircher (39:20 min), Annika Buser (40:34 min) and Anna skull (43:42 min), had already won the German title in the cross -country run in the U18 last year. Her achievements in Saarbrücken testify to a high team quality and individual class, with Kira Weis also won the 12th place at the youth world championship over 5000 m.

sustainable success and promoting young talent

The KSG running team has won a total of impressive eight German championship titles and is therefore the most successful youth run team in Germany. The youngest participant was 16-year-old Noe Chretien, who reached a time of 35:44 min. Leonard Henke followed him with 37:32 min and Stephan Maisch ended the race in the M50 with a time of 41:16 min.

The team's athletes have been trained by the children's program "Schlumpflaufteam" from the KSG Department of Athletics Sprint & Lauf, which celebrates its 10th anniversary this year. The KSG Gerlingen thus offers a unique team project in the “Running” trend sport for width and top sport and shows how important young talent is in competitive sports.

The events in Gerlingen are proof of the dynamics and success of the KSG running team, which will continue to shine on the national and international stage. The combination of top performance and an inspiring environment will undoubtedly lead to further successes.
