On Friday, October 3, 2025, the Hoheneck outdoor pool will let dogs into the water - a premiere that will make the hearts of four-legged friends and their owners beat faster. From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., dogs can jump into the cool water for a fee of 2 euros per animal and 1 euro per person. This event is part of the diverse program that the Ludwigsburg district has prepared for the first weekend in October. In addition to dog swimming, visitors can expect a variety of other events.
The Alte Rösterei in Ludwigsburg is celebrating its opening with three special events. The series opens with “Urban Roast” on Thursday, followed by “Rock in der Fabrik” on Friday and the “Beat & Beton” event on Saturday. These events promise a varied evening program for music lovers.
Pumpkin exhibition in the Blooming Baroque
A highlight of the events is the Pumpkin exhibition in the Blooming Baroque. This year it revolves around film characters from different genres. Visitors can look forward to impressive pumpkin figures depicting, among others, Charlie Chaplin, Marilyn Monroe, Harry Potter and characters from the Star Wars universe. Culinary offerings such as pumpkin soup, pumpkin dumplings and pumpkin secco round off the experience.
A big highlight takes place on Sunday: the German pumpkin weighing championship. The exhibition is open until November 2nd, from 9 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Admission for adults costs 16 euros on weekends. Additional events such as a pumpkin slaughter festival and a pumpkin carving festival ensure that the exhibition is an experience for young and old.
A variety of events in the district
In addition to the pumpkin exhibition, the weekend offers other exciting events. In the Ludwigsburg district There will be a Turkish cultural festival on Saturday on the town hall square, which will offer numerous attractions from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m. The Punch and Judy show in the Fairytale Garden also has several performances in its program on Sunday.
Classic car lovers will get their money's worth at the classic car rally in Marbach on Friday, while a VAInschmecker market and a shopping Sunday will take place in Vaihingen on Sunday.
