Bietigheim Duck Race inspires with colorful ducks and lots of fun!

The Lions Club Bietigheim-Bissingen an der Metter's fourth duck race took place on May 25, 2025. The popular family event attracted many spectators who gathered on the bank and enjoyed the exciting atmosphere. Annual President Joachim Kölz was pleased with the unexpectedly great success of the event, which this year featured a special innovation: in addition to the traditional yellow ducks, pink ducks were also offered for sale for the first time.

A significant number of participants took part in the race, with 69 larger corporate ducks. There was a special prize for the winning duck: the ice cream truck with 250 portions of ice cream provided a sweet end to the day. The Hess Rehabilitation Center turned out to be the big winner of the race and secured ice fun for all employees.

A look at the commitment of the Lions Clubs

The Lions Club is not only known for its entertaining events. The organization is the largest service club organization in the world with nearly 1.4 million members in 202 countries. Their motto “We Serve” stands for a strong commitment to international understanding and maintaining peace. The Lions Clubs offer, among other things, the Lions Youth Exchange Program, which opens up international contacts and cultural diversity to young people.

These programs promote mutual respect and understanding between cultures. Both incoming visits and the participation of German young people abroad are organized. In particular, youth camps lasting several weeks and intensive family stays enable participants to get to know the country and its people better.

In addition, summer seminars and youth forums take place in Germany that address current issues from a historical, political, socio-cultural and economic perspective. Interested young people of all nations can take part in these programs, regardless of whether their parents are Lions Club members.
