A real drug drama took place in Stuttgart today! A massive police operation of over 400 officers caused a sensational blow against a criminal drug gang on July 16, 2025. In a breathtaking operation, a whopping 16 people were arrested - 15 men and one woman between the ages of 28 and 53, who are suspected of having taken part in a gang-like trade in large quantities of narcotics. Even the BKA has opened its eyes, because the types of drugs that are the focus of the investigation are anything but harmless: cocaine, marijuana and hashish, all in the double-digit kilogram range!
But that's not all! As part of this in-depth investigation, a total of 24 properties were searched by police in Baden-Württemberg, Bavaria and Hesse, and the results are breathtaking! In cities like Stuttgart, Ludwigsburg and even Munich, more than 100,000 euros in cash, valuable vehicles and over 50 cutting and stabbing weapons were confiscated. Ludwigsburg24 reports two blank pistols and even explosives that were seized from this law-breaking drug gang! This is a real nightmare for citizens!
A year-long game of hide-and-seek
The investigation into this drug crime has been going on for years! What is worrying is that the previous arrest of a 42-year-old German, who is said to have obtained and sold an incredible 68 kg of cocaine, 51 kg of marijuana and 44.5 kg of hashish between 2019 and 2021, represents just the tip of the iceberg. During this arrest, 1.2 kg of cocaine and around 50,000 euros in suspected dealer money were seized! Press portal reported that the properties were being used as bunkers to store drugs - and the gang was clearly operating undisturbed!
But the police don't stand still! On July 9, 2025, two men aged 22 and 30 were arrested, caught with more than 700 grams of cocaine, 2.5 kg of amphetamine and even ten liters of liquid amphetamine base! The drug market is unpredictable and these arrests are a much-needed light in the darkness of organized crime!
A dangerous game!
Horrible figures show the full extent of drug crime in Germany: In 2023, around 347,000 drug crime cases were registered, which represents a shocking increase! Cannabis remains the most common drug, although numbers are declining slightly. But who knows how many people in our neighborhood are involved in the dangerous game? Statista shows that due to long-term health damage, the number of drug deaths rose to around 2,230 in 2023 - a frightening reality!
