Woman escapes after brutal attack by her ex-partner in Künzelsau!

A serious violent crime has occurred in the town of Künzelsau in the Hohenlohe district. A 39-year-old woman was kidnapped by her 28-year-old ex-partner and seriously injured. The incident occurred last weekend when the woman was spending time with her ex-partner. According to faz.net, the woman was seen on Sunday evening by a witness who was alarmed when he saw the man dragging a bleeding woman through the streets wearing only a pair of panties. Despite immediate police operations, there was initially no trace of the two.

On Monday, investigators discovered a bloody pair of shoes in an apartment building that presumably belonged to the woman, but she remained missing. The police searched intensively for the woman and her ex-partner, including using mantrailer dogs.

Last minute rescue

Early on Tuesday morning, June 17th, the woman managed to free herself after the perpetrator apparently fell asleep in a garden shed. At 4:45 a.m. she asked for help, whereupon the police quickly received an emergency call and were able to arrest the suspect shortly after 5 a.m. [stimme.de].

The 28-year-old ex-partner comes from Pforzheim and already has previous convictions for violent crimes and partner violence. The police have started an investigation and are calling on witnesses who saw the couple in Künzelsau between Sunday evening and Tuesday morning to come forward. Information can be given to the Heilbronn criminal police on 07131 104 4444.

The case once again highlights the alarming reality of intimate partner violence and the need to take such incidents seriously. The police are doing everything they can to investigate what happened and to collect further information about the background to the crime.
