Locking the A6 near Nuremberg: Massive traffic disruptions until August!

The expansion of the A6 motorway near Nuremberg is currently in full swing and leads to considerable restrictions for drivers. As Merkur are reported between the shooting village and the connection point Schwabach-West scheduled. The closure began on July 1st and will continue until the end of August 2025, the exact end of the work is still open.

During the closure, the highway is closed towards Nuremberg. The detour for traffic takes place via the Heilbronn directional lane. This measure affects a section of around twelve kilometers and to improve the flow of traffic, a speed limit of 80 km/h is imposed in both directions in this room. The traffic routing is diverted to a total of four traces: two towards Nuremberg and two towards Heilbronn, such as the Augsburger General supplemented.

reasons for the blocking

The primary reason for the blocking is the need for asphalting work on the road to increase safety and driving comfort. According to the current construction phase, further measures for road equipment and the reduction in traffic safety are planned. The construction work that has been going on for months are part of a larger project that provides for the expansion of the A6 south of Nuremberg to six lanes to improve the flow of traffic and minimize future traffic jams.

The affected section is not the only one affected by construction work; Other motorways in Bavaria, such as the A3, also experience similar restrictions. Drivers should therefore adjust to longer travel times and, if necessary, consider alternative routes.
