A real speed inferno took place in Göppingen on Monday evening! The police sent their officers to Stuttgarter Straße between 10:30 p.m. and midnight, and what they discovered was nothing short of breathtaking! Three speeders who behaved like true speed monsters were stopped - the speeding was absolutely shocking!
The first speeder, a shocking 23-year-old driver, roared through the city at 115 km/h, while the maximum speed limit was a ridiculous 50 km/h! The result? A drastic fine of 700 euros, 2 points in Flensburg and a draconian driving ban of 3 months! It is hard to believe that such irresponsible behavior continues to be tolerated on our streets.
Frenzy – danger to life and limb!
But that's not all! Two other drivers who were stopped by law enforcement also drove well over the limit. A hefty fine and further driving bans were imposed! The police are sending a clear appeal to the public: speeding is one of the main causes of serious accidents, and every speeding person poses a fatal risk to themselves and others!
In Switzerland, where the speed problem is similarly worrying, the government has already taken measures to make roads safer. Despite harsh punishments, speeding is still a colossal problem - and not without reason! Excessive speeds are involved in a staggering 30% of all serious accidents. Young drivers between the ages of 18 and 30 are particularly in the danger zone! This can also be seen in dramatic examples in which speeders, as in the tragic case in Zurich, raced through an 80 speed zone at 180 km/h and cost the lives of two people.

In Germany the situation is no less explosive! In 2024, an average of eight people will lose their lives in traffic every day! In total, a shocking 2,770 people died - a decline that does not hide the ongoing danger. Excessive speeds are the most common cause of accidents and therefore an immediate risk for every road user!
An alarming statistic states that 30 percent of all traffic deaths are due to speeding. When you look at these numbers, you immediately realize that speeding isn't just a personal problem - it's a societal threat!
