New goalkeeper duo at Frisch Auf Göppingen: squad for 2025/26 is ready!

Frisch Auf Göppingen has made some personnel decisions this season of the Daikin Handball Bundesliga. After an unfortunate end to the season in which the club only finished twelfth, the club management relied on a strategy of continuity in the squad. This was officially announced today, July 5, 2025. The squad will change for the 2025/26 season with four players leaving the club.

Among the departures that caused some surprises are the experienced right winger Andreas Flodmann, the backcourt player Josip Sarac and the two goalkeepers Tibor Ivanisevic and Bart Ravensbergen. While Ivanisevic and Ravensbergen, whose contracts expired after last season, are leaving the club, Josip Sarac will continue his career in Hungary with Tatabanya KC.

New additions and reinforcements

Frisch Auf Göppingen has already signed a few new signings to compensate for the departures. Among the newcomers is Kristian Saeverås, a Norwegian international who previously played for SC DHfK Leipzig. Saeverås has informed his Leipzig club that he does not want to extend his contract, which increased Göppingen's interest in him. In addition, Julian Buchele, a talented U21 national player, is coming back from his own youth team; Most recently he was active at TV Großwallstadt. Martin Hanne, who is moving from TSV Hannover-Burgdorf, has the potential to take over Sarac's position. Hanne would like to recommend himself to the national team again with strong performances after already taking part in the 2024 European Championship.

Another newcomer is Tim Goßner, who also comes from our own youth team but was able to gain experience in the first league last season with HC Oppenweiler/Backnang. Frisch Auf's coach sees these commitments as a solid foundation for the coming season.

Strategic decisions

The traditional Göppingen club is currently intensively planning for the new season. In the fall, more and more decisions are made about contract extensions and new additions. After the departure of Ivanisevic and Ravensbergen, it is particularly important to establish a strong goalkeeping duo. The club's background and approach show that they are paying close attention to the needs of the team and at the same time want to remain competitive in the league.

In summary, Frisch Auf Göppingen shows with these transfers that they are not just looking for short-term solutions, but are pursuing a sustainable approach. The club remains on the lookout for further reinforcements to increase competitiveness and overcome the upcoming challenges in the league.
