Linus Kutz: Farewell to the THW Kiel and new challenges in Hagen!

On June 29, 2025, Linus Kutz was officially adopted for the THW Kiel after his last home game. The young handball player is moving to VfL Eintracht Hagen in the 2nd Bundesliga for the coming season, after he was on the field in 40 encounters for the THW Kiel in the past 2024/25 season. During this time he gained valuable experiences in the Bundesliga, in the cup and in the European League, which will benefit his further career. Solid achievements not only brought Kutz recognition, but also the position as the best field shooter of the German selection during the Junior World Cup, where he had already scored 28 goals before the final game.

Linus Kutz, who moved from AMTV Hamburg to THW Kiel at the age of 14, went through the club's entire youth program and celebrated his Bundesliga debut on September 12, 2024 against Göppingen. In addition to his 19 goals in the Bundesliga, he also won the DHB Cup in the A-Youth Bundesliga and won the gold medal at the European Youth Festival in 2022 with the U17 of the German Handball Association. Kutz also makes use of his second game right by playing for the third division club TSV Altenholz.

Kutz also commented on his experiences outside the field, like his first TV interview, where he could talk to journalists about his career. He emphasized that such experiences are of great importance for a handball career. "I learned a lot from the THW Kiel," Kutz summarized his time.

future prospects

The managing director of THW Kiel, Viktor Szilagyi, is optimistic about Kutz 'future and expressed the hope of one day to see him again in the THW jersey. Kutz himself has the goal of further improving in Hagen in order to possibly return to the THW Kiel at a later date. "I look forward to being able to help," said Kutz, expressing his wish to continue to be successful in handball.
