Championship celebration of SG Wendlingen/Ötlingen: team spirit and tractor!

The 2024/2025 football season is coming to an end and many decisions are pending. Among the numerous teams that achieved exceptional performance during this time, SG Wendlingen/TSV Ötlingen II stands out. This team won the championship title in the Neckar/Fils women's district league and celebrated an unplanned but happy championship party with a May wagon and a tractor at the sports field.

Coach Leon Reyher and assistant coach Miriam Klopp led the team to success in their first season as a coaching duo. The championship title was achieved through team spirit, joy of playing and strong cooperation. Reyher and Klopp took over the team in the winter when the original goal was to finish the season well. But with progress, confidence grew and championship eventually became a reality.

Team spirit and solidarity

The players from SG Wendlingen/TSV Ötlingen II were characterized by a high level of team cohesion and enthusiasm for the game. The climate within the team was characterized by mutual support without any competition. This was crucial for the success of the current season. To promote shared team spirit, the players plan a final trip to a cabin where they are expected to spend a time of fellowship without their coaches.

After the championship, the question remains whether there will be a separate celebration. At the same time, there are still no final discussions regarding future league membership. However, the players are looking forward to their next challenge, with plans to integrate new players into the team.

New champion from Kaiserslautern

Another notable team this season is the women's team of 1. FC Kaiserslautern, which secured the championship title in the District League West three match days before the end of the season. This newly founded team remained without losing any points during the season and celebrated an impressive 5-0 win against third-placed TuS Landstuhl. The sporting coordinator Sven Bauer highlights the team's great potential.

In addition, the FCK women are in the final of the West Palatinate/Nahe Cup and in the semi-finals of the Southwest Association Cup, where they will play against the regional league team SC Siegelbach. Success in the Association Cup could even secure them participation in the DFB Women's Cup, which would represent significant progress for the still young team. The coaches Thomas Hartmann and Simon Woll praise the performance of their players and are optimistic for the future.
