Burglary in the outdoor pool kiosk: Perpetrators leave massive damage behind!
Today, June 16, 2025, several incidents involving both burglaries and traffic accidents were reported in the region. The police have already started investigations and are looking for witnesses.
In Dettingen/Erms, and therefore within the jurisdiction of the Reutlingen police headquarters, a break-in was recorded at the outdoor pool kiosk. The incident occurred between 10 p.m. Sunday and 5:30 a.m. Monday. Unknown perpetrators gained entry through a damaged window and stole cash from a cash register, the amount of which is currently unknown. The material damage amounts to around 600 euros. Investigations are underway to identify the perpetrators and bring them to justice, as news.de reports.
More break-ins in the region
A similar incident occurred at the outdoor pool kiosk in Wickede, where unknown perpetrators used brutal force to break open a door. The burglars only took around 20 euros from the change cup, but they left massive damage behind. The resulting material damage amounts to several thousand euros. The kiosk team found traces such as cigarette butts that could be used to secure DNA evidence. A “tag”, a painted sign, was also left behind. A break-in also occurred in Hechingen between Sunday evening and Monday morning. Perpetrators broke down an entrance door to a café and stole a waitress's wallet with change. The material damage caused is estimated at around 1,000 euros. The Hechingen police station and forensic scientists are also entrusted with the investigation.
Traffic accidents in the region
In addition, there was a traffic accident in Leinfelden-Echterdingen in which a 32-year-old woman ignored a flashing pedestrian light while driving her Mercedes and collided with a six-year-old girl who was riding a scooter. The girl suffered minor injuries and was taken to hospital for further examination. The material damage caused amounts to around 500 euros.
Another incident occurred at Stuttgart Airport, where smoke was detected in the terminal restaurant at 10:10 a.m. on Monday morning. The cause was the food burning briefly in the oven. Employees were able to extinguish the flames themselves. There was a larger deployment of the fire department with six vehicles and 15 personnel. There were no injuries and no damage to property has been identified so far.
