Deuchelrieder B1 soccer girls: Sensational promotion to the top league!
The B1 soccer girls from SV Deuchelried successfully cleared the hurdle to the top league in an exciting promotion game. This represents the team's highest success in its club history to date. Promotion to the Oberliga, the top division for women's football after the 2024/25 league reform, was secured last weekend with a combination of skillful play and strong nerves. This is reported by the Swabian.
In the promotion duel against FC Esslingen, the Schwanen players proved to be strong. In the first leg, which they won 3-0, Eva Schele, Joseline Koros and Leonie Maurus contributed significantly to the success with their goals. This result gave the team the necessary self-confidence for the second leg, where the atmosphere in the Kuhweid Arena was fueled by numerous fans, including SVD youth players.
Exciting second leg secures promotion
In the second leg, the Deuchelrieder women took an early 1-0 lead: Antonia Sigg scored in the first half. Emma Schuler increased the score to 2-0 shortly afterwards. Esslingen, who needed five goals to level the two-legged tie, came back into the game twice through Matilda Funke and Mia Kirin and even equalized in the 57th minute. But Antonia Sigg showed her fighting spirit again and scored the decisive 3-2 in the 73rd minute. After 90 tense minutes, the B1 girls' promotion was certain.
In the coming league season, the team expects a hard-fought relegation campaign. Future opponents will include VfB Stuttgart, SC Freiburg, Karlsruher SC and 1. FC Heidenheim. Coach Sofia Borges and her protégés are optimistic about the challenges ahead.
Training camp for the young soccer players
In parallel to the sporting successes of the B1 youth, SV Deuchelried has also invested in the training of younger players. A training camp for 60 children and young people recently took place, which was organized in cooperation with FC Augsburg. Six coaches from the FC Augsburg football school led the three-day camp, which offered numerous training and teaching opportunities.
The participants, aged six to twelve, were able to let off steam in various training sessions and experience what it means to learn football at a high level. The Saturday of the camp not only offered intensive training sessions, but also a camp Olympics that stimulated the general knowledge of the young athletes. The finale was a championship in which the children played in teams named after current FCA professionals. Each participant received a certificate to commemorate the successful event, which will be repeated in the future. Thanks go to the helpers, patrons and sponsors who made the camp successful.
