A wave of joy rolled over Sindelfingen when the town twinning association ISPAS celebrated its resounding 30th birthday on July 10, 2025! Incredible highs and emotional lows have shaped this club and now they are ready to look back on three decades of magical encounters, unforgettable friendships and unwavering bonds. Brigitte Stegmaier, the esteemed chairwoman, opened the magnificent anniversary celebration in the Holy Trinity Community Center with a passionate appeal to those present: “A person may be young at 30, but a club has experienced an emotional rollercoaster ride during this time!” SZBZ reports that...
The guests reminisced and experienced the magic that has flowed through the years. They heard stories about encounters that transcended boundaries and friendships that flashed like bright stars in the sky. The atmosphere was charged with incredible energy, which made it clear to everyone present: These city friendships are not just an anecdote, but a deep, emotional connection between people and cultures!
Another anniversary – strengthening town twinning!
But that wasn't all! In the same exciting year, a fascinating family reunion between the twin towns of Gummersbach and La Roche-sur-Yon took place! The City castle reported on a harmonious meeting that was organized by the Burger Friendship Circle e.V. 15 guests from La Roche-sur-Yon and Gummersbach went on an excursion-like road trip through the city, which was organized down to the smallest detail. They experienced the breathtaking historic Jerichow Monastery and the majestic windmill in Parey!
The celebrations culminated in an exhilarating musical night in the vineyard, with hot rhythms of Spanish music that made the hearts of those present beat faster. Mayor Philipp Stark recognized the continued importance of such events and thanked the committed partnership associations that make such magical moments possible.
The concept of town twinning – an international network
Germany scores with an almost unbelievable number of around 6,500 city partnerships worldwide! These numbers are not only impressive, but also evidence of a unique network between people from different cultures. There are over 2,200 town twinnings with places in France alone!
