The game got off to a rocky start for Leonberg/Eltingen, as the players initially had difficulty adapting to HSG Ettlingen's physical style of play. But a more offensive defense quickly helped to better control the HSG attackers. The team went into halftime with a narrow 16:15 lead.

In this critical phase, goalkeeper Max Schneider played a crucial role with several important saves that secured the team's support.
