Caravan fire in Öschelbronn: 5000 euros worth of damage and a lot of smoke!

On Saturday afternoon, June 15, 2025, the fire department was called to a recreational property on Mötzinger Strasse in Öschelbronn at around 3:20 p.m. The emergency services were confronted with a dramatic situation: a caravan was ablaze and released strong, meter-high clouds of smoke into the air. Despite the fierce flames, the fire brigade managed to successfully prevent the fire from spreading to an adjacent garden shed.

The caravan, which burned to the ground, was identified as the main source of the heavy smoke. There was also significant damage to a six meter high thuja hedge and to various garden furniture. The total damage is estimated at around 5,000 euros. The exact cause of the fire is still unclear and the police have commissioned the Herrenberg police station to investigate. Witnesses are asked to call (07032) 27080 or email herrenberg.prev@polizei.bwl.de.

Fire brigade in action

The fire brigade was deployed with a large contingent. The rapid response and extensive equipment of the emergency services were crucial in protecting the neighboring garden shed from the flames. This shows once again how important speed and a good deployment strategy are in the event of a fire.

Although the exact cause of the fire remains unknown, the incident once again highlights the dangers of fire on recreational properties. Local authorities advise owners to pay special attention to safety precautions.
