Böblingen City Festival 2025: Celebrate with Italian friends and enjoy!

The 42nd Böblingen City Festival is in full swing and is drawing numerous visitors to the city center. The festival began on Friday, July 4, 2025 at 7:30 p.m. with a traditional tapping of the keg, at which Böblingen's mayor Stefan Belz and Werner Dinkelaker, the head of the Schönbuch Braumanufaktur, tapped the first keg. The beautiful summer weather contributes to the excellent atmosphere.

This year the 40-year twin town relationship with Alba in northern Italy is celebrated. The mayor of Alba, Alberto Gatto, also traveled to celebrate with the people of Böblingen on this occasion. A festive act to celebrate the partnership will take place today, July 5th, at 12:30 p.m. at the European Mile at the Alba Bridge. An entry in the Golden Book is also made here.

A celebration for young and old

The city festival offers a colorful program around the Schlossberg until Sunday evening, July 6th. The city center was transformed into a festive stage for music, enjoyment and encounters. Various bands and dance groups provide musical entertainment on the market square and in the Pestalozzihof. The dance groups from the twin towns of Alba and Krems also present their arts.

Local clubs, schools and several performances ensure an eventful weekend. A new highlight this year is the mobile green room on Bahnhofstrasse, where visitors can find a chillout area. In addition, participatory activities such as trial diving on Elbenplatz are part of the program.

Culinary delights and markets

The culinary offerings during the city festival are diverse: from Swabian classics to international specialties, there is something for every taste. There is also a grocer's market on Untere Poststrasse and Marktstrasse, while a flea market on Oberen See is open for bargain hunters.

The fair park run by the Grün-Weiss Böblingen Fasnet Association offers numerous attractions and rides for families. The Lakeside Open Air at Elbenplatz rounds off the festival offering and attracts many music lovers.

Visitors can particularly look forward to a shopping Sunday on Sunday, July 6th, which offers the opportunity to visit the Böblingen shops from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
