Porsche meeting at Wolfshagen Castle: Passion on two wheels!

Last Saturday, around 40 Porsche drivers gathered in Wolfshagen Castle Park to take part in a special event. The automobile manufacturer based in Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen had organized an exclusive trip to Rostock and invited its customers from Berlin to a stopover in Prignitz. The participants took this opportunity to enjoy the picturesque view of the baroque castle.

The elegantly curved lines of the Porsche vehicles were placed on the freshly mown lawn in front of the castle, providing a picturesque backdrop. The chairman of the Wolfshagen Castle Museum Association, Bernhard von Barsewisch, reported on the event and the activities that had been organized for the participants. Guests were divided into two groups to complete different tasks while a drone captured the exciting interactions and challenges.

Wolfshagen Castle

Wolfshagen Castle, which acquired its current appearance in the 18th century, is not only an architectural pearl, but also significant for the history of the region. Until 1945 it was the residence of the Gans Edle Herren zu Putlitz family. After the family was released by the Red Army, the castle was used as a school building until 1998. Only after reunification did the facility undergo a comprehensive renovation. Today the support association runs a museum that preserves the history and cultural treasures of the castle, and many Porsche fans took the opportunity to view the exhibitions over a cup of coffee.

There are numerous historical exhibits on display within the museum, including pieces that highlight the castle's long history. New furnishings were installed in the old chapel that pay tribute to the building's religious past. A large 1580 baptismal font depicting a Golgotha scene and a 19th-century silver-plated baptismal font are just some of the valuable artifacts on display in the museum. In addition, casts of tombstones of the Gans zu Putlitz family from 1607 are part of the collection.

The cultural significance

The castle chapel will continue to be used for church services, such as on Ascension Day and the 1st Advent, as well as for baptisms, confirmations and church weddings. During the tours, visitors can also take a look into the chapel, which is part of the museum tour and is accessible during regular opening hours.

This event, where classic automobiles met the deep-rooted history and cultural significance of the castle, offered participants not only the opportunity to exchange ideas, but also to enjoy the historical ambience. Unforgettable memories were created, both for the Porsche drivers and for those who visited Wolfshagen Castle.
