VfB Stuttgart crowns itself with DFB Cup victory – celebrations in the Cannstatter Kurve!
Last Saturday, VfB Stuttgart celebrated its return to old successes in the sold-out Berlin Olympic Stadium. In the 2025 DFB Cup final, the team beat Arminia Bielefeld 4-2. The title represents VfB's first cup victory since 2007 and marks the fourth triumph in the club's history.
In a thrilling game, Stuttgart scored three goals in the first 30 minutes. Nick Woltemade opened the scoring in the 15th minute, followed by Enzo Millot in the 22nd minute and Deniz Undav, who contributed the third goal in the 28th minute. Arminia, who went into the final as third division champions, were able to score two goals through Julian Kania (82nd minute) and a late own goal from Josha Vagnoman (85th minute), but the game ended with a clear 4-2 for VfB.
A big moment for the club
CEO Alexander Wehrle was proud of winning the second title in his term of office and emphasized how important this success is for the entire club and the fans. Coach Sebastian Hoeneß, who won the trophy following his family tradition, will certainly also look back on this final with pride.
What is particularly worth mentioning is that with this victory Stuttgart not only wins the cup, but also secures participation in the European Cup for the coming season. This is another step for the club to establish itself in European football. For this occasion, the Cannstatter Kurve has published an 18-minute video that captures the excitement and preparations for the cup evening. The footage shows fans creating posters and choreographies to support their team.
After the season in ninth place
Despite the great success in the cup, Stuttgart ended the Bundesliga season in ninth place. This ranking will certainly serve as an incentive to attack more next season. Bielefeld's coach Mitch Kniat praised his team's commitment, despite the defeat and the challenge of facing such a strong opponent.
The cup victory underlines Stuttgart's efficient style of play, which consistently took advantage of Bielefeld's mistakes. Previously, the East Westphalians, represented by Noah Sarenren Bazee, had their first opportunity in the 12th minute, but it ended up hitting the crossbar. Stuttgart showed strong throughout the game and rewarded themselves with the well-deserved title.
