Depeche Mode amazes fans with new song in concert film!

Depeche Mode recently turned heads with an exciting surprise at the Tribeca Festival in New York. During the screening of their new concert film “Depeche Mode: M,” an unknown song identified by fans as “In the End” was presented. This new track is part of a selection of four songs recorded for the new album Memento Mori, but not included in the final album. Martin Gore, the band's songwriter, confirmed this information during a panel discussion after the screening, according to the Bietigheim newspaper reported.

The concert film shows impressions of Depeche Mode's performances in Mexico City in 2023 and 2024. This followed the release of the album Memento Mori, which is the band's first effort without the late keyboardist Andy Fletcher. Fletcher died in May 2022 at the age of 60, which was a significant loss for the band. Despite these challenges, “Memento Mori” achieved great success in 2023 and is one of the most successful albums in Germany.

Unknown songs and planned new releases

The new song, which played during the film's closing credits, lasted about three minutes and is currently being shared as a recording on the X platform. During the panel, Gore expressed that he didn't know what to do with the three other unreleased songs that were created along with "In the End." The record label Sony, which represents the band, has not yet commented on possible new editions of these songs. This raises questions about the band's future and the fates of these unreleased tracks, reports Yahoo News.

Depeche Mode, founded in 1980, has since sold over 100 million records and is considered one of the most influential bands in music history. The latest concert film and publications show that the band remains active despite the challenges and maintains a close connection with their fans. The demand for new content and the hope for further releases of unreleased material could shape the next chapter in the history of this legendary band.
