Representatives of the Catholic Church in Africa are clearly skeptical about the acceptance of same-sex relationships, which could ignite another storm within the global religious community.
The way into the future
Amid all this excitement and change, the political reality of the Church shows a positive trend for 2026: blessing ceremonies for homosexual couples are to be officially introduced! However, they are currently still caught in a legal gray area. The German Bishops' Conference must now work out exceptions in order to receive approval from the Vatican.
