From the end of July to the beginning of August 2027, Stuttgart will be dominated by sport for a breathtaking month. The “Finals” combine the German championships of several sports into one gigantic event – for the very first time in this always vibrant city! This mega event will bring sport close to people's hearts! ARD and ZDF have already prepared their cameras for a LIVE broadcast over four days. The anticipation is palpable, as this event will not only showcase the sport's elite, but will also offer a variety of hands-on activities for young and old. As part of a comprehensive initiative for sustainable sporting events, an online survey is being carried out on the sustainability performance of all German sporting events in the summer of 2023. The results of the survey are very promising: a full 74% of organizers are actively putting sustainability on their agenda! This means that a green wave is also coming to sport. Important topics include waste management, traffic, energy saving and even the origin of the materials used - everything you could want for an environmentally conscious event!
With spectacular measures and a sustainable concept, Stuttgart could not only become the center of sport, but also a pioneer for environmentally conscious events in Germany. A final symposium to present these revolutionary results is already planned for November 2024!
