New tour for Rems-Murr clinics: focus on maintenance quality!

The Rems-Murr clinics are developing a new care concept that is now being tackled under the direction of the new nursing director Giankarlo Cannavò. He is supported by Angelika Baur, who takes responsibility for care in Winnenden, and Sabrina Barschtipan, who remains as managing director of the Rems-Murr Education Center for Health Professions. The aim of this new management team is to interlock care at both clinic locations and avoid double structures in order to use the resources more efficiently. This is intended to significantly improve the quality of patient care. In this context, Cannavò emphasizes the need for a care culture based on trust, professionalism and communication, while the new nursing location managers beat an operational bridge between strategic decisions and practical care in everyday life.

A central aspect of the new care concept is the creation of transparency and uniformity in the processes in order to strengthen the exchange between the teams. The planned measures also include a planned care campus at the Rems-Murr Clinic in Winnenden and a new functional building in Schorndorf, which are part of the strategy for sustainable care. These initiatives are also intended to help manage the challenges of demographic change that make elderly care in the Rems-Murr district.

demographic change and care summit

Demographic change brings with it a variety of challenges, especially in geriatric care. A higher life expectancy leads to more aid and long-term care, which is also reinforced by an acute lack of nursing staff. In order to address these problems, the first nursing summit in the Rems-Murr district took place on May 24, 2023 under the title "The elderly care in need-accept the challenges together". This event brought together representatives from politics, authorities, geriatric care, clinics and associations in order to discuss the state of geriatric care and to develop necessary solutions.

Various topics were addressed as part of the nursing summon, including the current obstacles in elderly help and the lack of short -term care places. District Administrator Dr. Richard Sigel emphasized that a common effort was needed to find sustainable solutions. Support from the federal and state governments for a sustainable care infrastructure was also recognized. Social Minister Manfred Lucha praised the district's commitment, while government director Barbara Zeller informed about current measures.

initiatives to strengthen care

The Rems-Murr-Kreis actively positions itself in the support of its cities and municipalities and has started various initiatives to improve care. This includes the forecast of future care needs and programs to promote civic engagement and to further develop advisory services. The district's nursing school and the Education Center for Health, which contribute to coordination of generalistic training, also played an important role. The Rems-Murr clinics are an important building block for sustainable care infrastructure.

The challenges in geriatric care are complex, and all actors are required to actively participate in solutions. The graphic representation of the topics in the nursing summit illustrated the multi -layered problems and the need to strengthen the care and role of the nurses, those in need of care and relatives.
