A sensational turnaround in the nature and environmental protection scene: The “Im Weiher” biotope in Ruppertsweiler is about to undergo a breathtaking expansion! This is not only a step in the right direction, but a real REVOLUTION for local nature. Edeka Südwest and the NatureLife-International Foundation have joined forces to support this impressive project with an incredible 3,000 euros! Who would have thought that such sums would go into restoring our nature?
The goal? The revitalization of floodplains and wet meadows – a true dream for every nature lover. The Ruppertsweiler Nature and Bird Protection Association, which has been fighting with great commitment to preserve the biotope since 2000, is proudly honored as a prize winner in the highly respected nature conservation competition “Our Home and Nature”! [rheinpfalz.de]. Here, businesswoman Nina Korb will hand over the symbolic donation check to chairman Ralf Schiefer - a gesture that will make the hearts of all environmental lovers beat faster.
Reawakening nature
The planned measures are NOT less than amazing! There will be targeted mowing and maintenance work, cleaning of local springs and creation of suitable habitats, all in the name of preserving biodiversity. This project not only promises an alert and lively natural area, but also long-term, natural conservation of these valuable areas through gentle grazing. A dream becomes reality!
Another shocking aspect is the drastic increase in the number of award winners this year. An incredible 29 new projects will be recognized in 2025, bringing the total to an impressive 297! The scope of this competition is hard to understand - since it began, an astonishing over 736,000 euros have been funded for nature conservation projects in the southwest! This impressively shows how committed people are to protecting their nature.
