KBSV supports young talents: scholarships and workshops for the future!
On May 27, 2025, the “Incubation of Young Scientists” 2024-2025 scholarship award ceremony took place in Hanoi, at which 40 selected students were honored. This event, organized by KBSV and Hanoi National University, was an important step in promoting young talent in Vietnam. In his address, KBSV Director General Jeon Mun Cheol emphasized the institution's long-term commitment to training Vietnamese professionals and supporting their career development. Already 120 scholarships with a total value of VND3 billion have been awarded under this program, underscoring KBSV's commitment to nurture talent and provide them with opportunities.
The scholarship recipients expressed their gratitude, especially Ngo Minh Chau, who described the scholarship as a significant support in his life's journey. In order to expand knowledge about financial investments, the KBSV also organized a series of seminars. An outstanding event was the workshop “Put all your eggs in the right basket – investing is a small matter,” which attracted students from various disciplines. Hoang Duc Trung, an experienced investment advisor, explained during the workshop the importance of investing being accessible to everyone, regardless of field of study.
Investing in Generation Z
The workshop specifically focused on investment strategies for Generation Z in order to prepare them for the challenges of the future. KBSV plans to take further initiatives including an active investment ecosystem as well as a simulated investment competition. The aim of these measures is to promote social responsibility and create sustainable values in the community. These efforts are in line with the goals of the Vietnamese government, which aims to transform the country into a knowledge-based industrial society.
The government of Vietnam is committed to strengthening universities and improving the quality of education. Five universities, including two national universities, recently received additional funding to expand their research activities. A key aspect of these efforts is the effort to transform universities into a competitive system with autonomy for academic institutions. The Higher Education Act of 2012 and its amendment in 2018 have created a legal basis to support this autonomy and to tailor the training of specialists to the requirements of the labor market.
Challenges in the education system
Still, there are challenges in Vietnam's education system, including a gap between higher education and labor market demands. Around 200,000 university graduates are unemployed, which points to the need to make curricula more contemporary and more closely aligned with the needs of the economy. Modernized teaching and learning methods are crucial in order to better prepare pupils and students for their future careers. After all, new approaches and the involvement of practical partners from business significantly improve students' practical knowledge.
The high value placed on education and the willingness to reform in Vietnam make it possible to build a high-performance education and science system. Cooperation opportunities with international universities, including German institutions, can further support these efforts. As part of these efforts, KBSV actively contributes to the development of young talent and the implementation of social responsibility in the community.
The efforts of the KBSV and the Vietnamese universities are not only a commitment to education, but also an important step towards the sustainable and responsible development of Vietnamese society.
